Saturday – Day of the Origin of Moravian Fairytales

Sobota 4.9.
Každá země dostala přidělen cizí stát, a někteří jej opravdu nešetřili. Den jsme zakončili znalostním kvízem „Co víš o mé zemi,“ v němž byla nejúspěšnější turecká skupina.

Saturday – Day of the Origin of Moravian Fairytales
On Saturday we had to get up a bit earlier to catch our train to Strážnice, the place of the first excursion of our project. In Strážnice, there is an open air museum, so called Museum of the village in southeast Moravia, where we learnt about milieu of fairytales’ origin in old times. As soon as we reached the Museum’s entrance, it started to rain heavily. Unfortunately, it was raining during the whole excursion, so the participants were really grateful for the possibility of visiting many houses from the inside. Moreover, thanks to our guide we could learn about many interesting things, such as living, farming and life in Moravian village from early modern history to the 20th century.
In the afternoon weather was better (it only drizzled) and therefore we could go on a boat trip down the river Morava. However, some of us preferred to stay in warm and foremost dry café.
After dinner we all (including the owner of the pension) had great fun thanks to The Night of Prejudices. It represented short and funny scenes that showed prejudices which one nation has about another country. Each of the participating nations was assigned to perform their prejudice about another nation.
The quiz “What do you know about my country” was today’s last activity. We found out, that the most successful group in this competition was Turkey.
